SQMRIBBT

Space Quest Mania: Roger in a Big-Big Trouble is a re-imagined remake of Space Quest Mania episodic series (and previous episodic remake of the first 2 episodes by Sledgy/Evarube. It covers episodes 1-6, and goes beyond where episode 6 ended.

Background[]

This game is in Russian. But can be played with google translate if needed.

The plot takes place roughly after SQ5, perhaps betwen SQ5 and SQ6, or after SQ6.

Roger has crash landed on LV-426. He makes his way to penal colony where he is captured by the TX-665 Model robot guards. And reminded that he either has to pay his debt for fraud of Labion Terror Roar Whistle or be executed. Roger meets Leonardo Flink inventor-adventurer who gives him a magic marker as way of escape. Roger claims medical condition and is taken to infirmary, where he collects (useless?) emergency equipment, and quickly uses marker to dissolve a vent, and excape back to the surface of the planet. Roger makes his way to nearby space port. Sees a sequel police transport fly by, He enters the spaceport, and sees a dieing Larry get pulled underground for repairs.

He talks to the receptionist who tells him he needs 50 buckazoids to buy a ship back to Xenon. He enters back room runs into Graham, whom he has been chasing (apparently for a bounty from Roberta). They share insults, and Graham beams away. Roger is upset he's missed him again. Roger finds a 50 buckazoid coin inside a non-functioning replica of an old 20th century earth phone.

He takes it back to the receptionist who takes him to his new ship the the Auto-Goose. He notes that she looks a lot like Rosella. She tells him she gets that a lot.

He boards the ship and it takes off. He catches an distress SOS message calling him to land at the 'fearless planet of the cosmologists". That its been overrun by zombies and mutants. He decides he wants to just ignore it and head to Xenon, but the ship decides to go the cosmologist planet automatically. Deciding its the duty of its crew to save whoever is in danger.

After the ship lands on the planet Roger, reluctantly heads down the mountain into the abandoned old city, and makes his way into the Victory Trophy bar, where he finds Flink waiting for him. Flink explains he found a way to escape the prison, and landed here after following a distress signal, but after discovering it was overtaken by zombies and mutants he had to send his own distress signal.

He tosses roger his laser pistol and tells him to cover their escape. Roger then fights 50 monsters in a doom inspired sequence, thy escape back to the Auto-Goose and return to Xenon. The game ends with a suddenly cliffhanger? Goes to credits, mentions something about a 'remake', and shows a few very crude drawings of what looks like Kerona Droids B Us, and a Sarien, a broken window, and then "The End" screen.

Behind the scenes[]

Note: This game is not easily classifiable (it appears to be 'complete' remake retooling the first six episodes of Space Quest Mania into a stand alone game as part of an unfinished series). It is classed as 1.1 which appears to indicate its complete nature (as far as what the developer wanted to do with it as the first game in the series), however its short and only has 23 points (it's difficult to tell if all the points can be collected). There are points given for surviving the zombie mutant hoard, but at that point no way to look at the score.

The game is a retelling of the episodic Space Quest Mania series, that collects the episodes 1-6 of the game into one single game, and ends with an apparent 'zinger' (though it has 'the end' rather than a 'to be continued'). No sequel was ever made.

The puzzles resemble the Episode 2 version of Space Quest Mania RMK up to that point in the story comparde to original episode 2 of Space Quest Mania.

The scenes in the 'zinger' from Kerona and picture of a Sarien appear to be based on the unfinished Space Quest Mania (episode 7) which only received an alpha and demo version originally.

There doesn't seem to be any use for the billiard ball, or the syringe (stuffed with sleeping pills), the latter can be used for a death in the med bay.
