These are generally games that have a finished game/s (as part of episodic series), and are completely playable. However, they are incomplete in as much that the story later episodes were not completed and the story has no ending.
In the case of Space Quest 3D shooter its a fully playable demo with level/s but is not a complete game.
In general alphas, betas, and playable demos for cancelled games do not count as 'incomplete' but rather generally considered cancelled. This only covers incomplete series for the most part.
