The ALLTA timeline (from “Stardate: A long, long time ago….” is a timeline from the SQ1 1987 box and utilizing the date from the Catalogue timeline for SQ3.

Background[]

This timeline like Star Wars places events of series in the distant past (in relation to the 20th century when the games were made). While there is no exact dates in the early games (particularly 1 AGI-3 + Hoyle 1). It could imply that the original two games, originally took place several centuries up to millennia before Sierra existed. In this case The Daventry Zone (aka "Middle Ages" see Hoyle 1, medieval, contemporary to Ivanhoe according to The Bookwyrm Investigates: Sierra Characters' Favorite Books) could be a contemporary parallel universe rather than being in the 'past', and Earth 'parallel universe' in SQ3 was set in the future of Space Quest universe (Roger and Two Guys traveled forward in time roughly to around a time, before 1986 when Mark Crow and Scott Murphy started working for Sierra, and the release of SQ1AGI originally in 1986). Of course Hoyle 1 can be interpreted as taking place between SQ3 and SQ4, or during an alternate SQ4 period (see Space Quest IV: The Coarsegold Encounter).

Note: SQ3 is moved to 24th century as per an ad in the 1987 Sierra catalogue. Roger Wilco’s theory that a thousand years passed between SQ2 and SQ3 can apply to this timeline.
